Weekly therapy is valuable — but it has limits. Fifty minutes is often just enough time to open something up before you have to close it back down and go about your week. For women carrying significant trauma, that stop-and-start rhythm can actually slow the healing process.
A therapy intensive is different. With extended sessions of three hours or more, we have the time to go deep, stay there, process fully, and come back to solid ground before you leave. Clients consistently report that a single intensive covers what would take four to six weeks of regular sessions to reach.
Intensives are appropriate for any issue you would bring to regular therapy — and particularly powerful for the deeper work that weekly sessions struggle to reach.
Common focus areas include processing trauma and upsetting events, dissociation, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and patterns that have felt stuck despite years of regular therapy.
Because intensives are private pay, sessions can also integrate coaching topics alongside clinical work — giving us more flexibility to meet you exactly where you are.
Intensives draw on the same evidence-based somatic approaches used in regular sessions, with additional options available for in-person work.
Modalities may include somatic tapping, brainspotting, hypnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy, guided meditation, nature walks, and the use of oracle or tarot cards as a Jungian tool for exploring symbolism and meaning.
Every intensive is tailored to the individual client — we use what serves you best.
Mobile, Alabama sits at the northern edge of the Gulf Coast, within easy reach of some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Many clients choose to combine their intensive with a few days of rest and renewal — a morning of deep therapeutic work followed by an afternoon at Dauphin Island, Gulf Shores, or Orange Beach. Mobile itself offers cultural museums, art events, world-class cuisine, and one of the oldest Mardi Gras celebrations in the United States. Cruise ships also depart from the port of Mobile.
A typical multi-day intensive might look like: Saturday morning and afternoon sessions totaling six hours, an evening and morning of rest at the beach, and a three-hour session Sunday afternoon — nine hours of intensive work woven into a restorative weekend away.
Is a diagnosis provided? Yes, a diagnosis is required for all counseling sessions per state requirements. However, therapy intensives are private pay only — insurance does not reimburse extended sessions regardless of diagnosis. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided.
What paperwork is required? You will complete a consent for the intensive, a Good Faith Estimate, and an intake form describing your goals.
How does payment work? Payment for the first three hours must be made at least 48 hours in advance to hold the appointment. After each session block, the amount due for that block is charged to your account. Debit, credit card, and cash are all accepted.
Will a Superbill be provided? No. Insurance does not reimburse extended therapy sessions or coaching, and a Superbill would not result in reimbursement for intensive work.
